At @anokhilifestyle (my cultural multimedia & events brand), I’ve been blessed to have had many continued opportunities to showcase and spotlight the many milestone successes of women of colour and diverse backgrounds 🙏🏽
I’ve also gotten the support of the community to help me honour them over the past two decades, through The ANOKHI LIST & THE ANOKHI AWARDS (an annual endeavour until we hit our 20th anniversary, after which we are counting 5 year milestones for the list and awards [the next one being in 2027 when we celebrate our silver anniversary with 25 years]) 🥳
During that time, I have had the distinct pleasure of honouring @monikadeol & @farahnasserglobal, 2 stalwarts who have been the recipients of both (Farah in 2009 and Monika in 2017 & 2019) 🌟🌟
Our paths have crossed on several occasions as we share aligned values in our support of marginalized & disenfranchised women, as well as Monika & Farah being beacons for what’s possible in mainstream media if we allow ourselves to align our competencies with our confidence 💪🏼💪🏾💪🏿
Monika is the OG who did it before any South Asian in North America thought it was possible, changing the view of pop cultural media forever 👸🏽 and Farah, inspired by Monika’s pioneering career arc (as I was), has followed suit to carve out her own path in news media across Canada 👸🏽

SUZANNE ROGERS (@suzannerogerstoronto) is a woman I have long admired from afar for her longtime & consistent support of fashion, philanthropy, and everything women 🙌🏽
My history with @rogers started in the early 2000’s as an intern, which then elevated to corporate sponsorship for @anokhilifestyle’s annual awards shows from 2009-2014 ✊🏽
I’ve wondered over the years what it would be like to meet someone of her social standing, as one of Canada’s foremost & well known personalities 🌟
Would she be reserved as many in her position are and for good reason? Especially since you don’t know who you’re meeting in public gatherings and what their agenda is either (I should know, having hosted many celebrities at my events over the years and having to ensure security is strictly observed while they are on my watch, to ensure there’s no inappropriateness) 🙏🏽
What I’ve learned about Ms. Rogers each time our path has crossed is that she is a bonafide class act, serenely elegant and genuinely warm, as she acknowledges you by name, looks you intently in the eye when you speak to her, and listens with interest every single time 👸🏼
Her leadership style is providing opportunity for women of all backgrounds to escalate through grants, bursaries, and opportunities, which is why I’m honoured to feature her in this week’s #ToccaWomenToAdmireCircle 🙌🏼
