I am incredibly proud to spotlight Pinki Patel (on the left—@pinkigosal) and Monal Patel (on the right—@monalsky), co-founders and owners of Vasanti Cosmetics (@vasanticosmetics), the oldest South Asian founded and owned cosmetics and skincare company in North America (est. 1998) 🙌🏼✨
What I admire most about their story is that Vasanti was built on something incredibly powerful— sisterhood. The brand began when four women (three sisters and one childhood friend) asked a simple but deeply relatable question: “Why doesn’t make-up look good on me?” 🤔
That question sparked a journey of curiosity, research, and determination that would ultimately lead to the creation of a brand designed to accommodate darker skin tones that mainstream brands were missing 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏿♀️
